It was my birthday yesterday and it is my best friend Amy’s Birthday today so we had a joint party with about 20 of our friends yesterday at my house. The weather was amazing and everything therefore went to plan – a very girly tea party on the lawn with a buffet style lunch/dinner and cocktails, Pimms and Champagne served all day long. We all had a fabulous time and I have some pictures here to show you the set up and a few of the party.
This is my new jelly mould which my boyfriend got me last week – so cute!
Homemade bunting along our balcony! These are the cherry bakewell cupcakes I made – I will do a blog post about how to make these because they are more than meets the eye!Old fashioned paper straws – LOVE!Birthday girls – I’m on the left and Amy is on the right!I made lots of really cute paper cranes to go along the windows – so cheap and lovely to add to a girly party!Thank you for reading my blog! I hope you enjoyed the lovely weather this weekend if you are in the UK. It just makes me want to smile all day long!
This is such an amazing place to visit – the sweet section of Harrods. I was in heaven, I am a complete sugar addict!Everything looks so pretty and delicious. I actually didn’t end up buying anything from the sweet section but only because I had had so many other sweet things that day! Jelly Belly – my favourite sweets of all! This love heart tree is such a cute thing! I don’t think I would actually be able to eat it!
The other day I felt like making some treats for my house but I didn’t have time to make cakes or anything so I went out and got some mint aero and strawberries. This is so simple but yummy! You literally melt the chocolate in a bowl over boiling water and dip the strawberries in. You then pop them in the fridge until they set and sprinkle with icing sugar to finish it off!The mint aero made them taste so much better than just chocolate. Please try this!Thank you for reading my blog, I have a very busy weekend so I will have lots of good posts coming up I hope! I would like to welcome all my new followers and thank everyone for their interest in my blog!
I have had my housemates moaning at me for a while for my lack of baking so I jumped at the chance when I had a free evening recently. I made some delicious lavender cupcakes and this time I didn’t bother with the buttercream icing as personally I think it looks good but it makes the cakes far too sickly!
Above is my crazy organisation. I love everything to be neat and organised……little too much?! I even added colouring to the cake mix to make them that bit more pretty!Fresh out the oven! Here is the icing colouring I used……I love purple so this is ideal. I have attempted to make purple colouring before and failed! A little bit of glitter and sprinkles and we’re done! What do you think?Thank you for reading my blog!
I went to the Bass Brewery to find out all about about ale! It was really fascinating to hear about the history of the brewery and taste what they had on offer! Personally I am not a massive fan of ale and beer but I went along to hear all about it with people who are.
We managed to spend nearly a whole day there as there is so much to do – horses, vintage cars, museum, life in the Bass Brewery, meet the brewers, tasting, guided tours – we did it all! The huge shire horses they have – this one was 19hands and some go up to 22 hands, I literally felt tiny next to him. This particular horse has won a fair few awards in the UK – I am told he is famous in the horse world! These strange chairs are what they used to have in pubs – they are cock fighting chairs. Men would sit on them in a circle around fighting birds and the chairs would protect them (!)Thank you for reading my blog!
The day after I did my charity bike ride, we made home made pizzas in my brothers pizza oven! He made it with his friends last summer and I have been dying to visit and give it a whirl! We topped the bases with delicious fresh chicken, prawn, chorizo and veg – yummy! They didn’t all turn out nice and round like the pizzas in shops but I quite like that – more authentic! We dined on pizza, pizza and more pizza. A perfect end to a fabulous weekend!
Last week I went to Bogan Bingo at the Underdog in Clapham Common and I had a fantastic night. The idea is hard to explain – it wasn’t anything like what I expected but basically it is a few rounds of bingo with interactive audiences, singing, dancing, competitions, booze and banter!
I spent the whole night laughing with friends and really enjoying the entertainment! If you can ever go, do!Thanks for reading my blog – sorry about the quality of these pictures, I had to take them on my iphone!
Firstly, I would like to say thank you to all my followers and friends who have shown an interest in my blog. It has been far more popular than I imagined when I started at Christmas as a little hobby. I am getting lots of pictures taken everywhere I go which has meant that i have collected a huge selection (I am even going to buy an external hard drive this week as I have no more space on my 3 computers!)
I am always looking for new blogs to follow so please make yourselves obvious to me so I can take a look!
This blog award is the 7×7 Link Award and as with other awards there are certain tasks I must complete in order to accept it…it goes like this:
I must provide 7 links to posts that I have written according to 7 categories (as detailed below). Thereafter I am to pass this award onto 7 other bloggers.
OK so here are the categories with the links!
I’m not sure whether you will agree with me but here goes..
MOST HELPFUL – has to be my post about a Graze Box – this is a weekly delivery of healthy snacks which you can pick from their ever growing website. If you look closely, you will see how you can get your own free one! I had a lot of people emailing me about this – if you want a free code, get in touch!
MOST POPULAR- I had to look at my stats for this but it is 271 REGENT STREET I think this is because I didn’t post people in my blogs for quite a while then I started to ask my friends if they minded and they didn’t. They are pretty good shots of some of my best friends on Oxford Street, London.
MOST BEAUTIFUL- has to be Columbia Road Flower Market – Flower Power – amazing to look at such colourful pictures!
MOST CONTROVERSIAL- I found this one quite tricky – I guess is has to be Eightsome as it caused quite a hype with people not really knowing what reeling was. Some people laughed and some people asked for details to go along too. I LOVED it, I love most things though!
MOST SURPRISINGLY SUCCESSFUL- this has got to be Bake Off. I just did some baking one day with my friend and I never imagined so many people would be interested. The cakes aren’t that adventurous but they look and tasted mighty fine! (I think the pink icing helped!)
MOST UNDER RATED- I would say it was Central Stroll It did get a lot of interest but not as much as I had imagined compared to other posts which I thought were less interesting. I think the bridge shots are so pretty!
MOST PRIDE WORTHY- my favourite post so far has been Borough Market, London. Partly because I had a lot of fun the day I took the pictures and had a chance to play around with the settings on my camera, partly because of the interest I had from this post. The pictures show the delicious selection of food on offer – cannot emphasise enough how much you should visit if you can!
So I hope you all enjoyed mothers day, those who celebrate it at this time of yet and not in May. I went home to Cambridge to see my family and we had a great weekend. Here are some of the pictures I took on Mothers day on my phone. The others from the weekend I took on my camera so I will show you in another post, enjoy!
Let me take you on the journey through weighing to presentation of my pineapple upside down cake. It was absolutely delicious and between 4 of us we ate it in 1 day! It is really easy to make, I made it in about half an hour. It is an old classic and it reminds me of school dinners in my primary school!
You simply add brown sugar and butter to glaze the pineapples. It is so tasty when you do this!
Et Voila! Turn it over and you have an amazing desert! This is one of my favourite puddings as the sponge is thin but dense and the pineapple is coated in a sweet sugar glaze – together it is perfect!
Thank you for reading my blog, I have been so busy recently that I am really behind with my blog. I have lots of exciting things to share – including my suprise dinner last week….. watch this space!
